CENTERTON, Ark. --

Centerton Fire Chief Jeff Coffelt said a church fire on Main Street will have to be investigated.

"The structure is a very old structure. It was built in the previous century, and there is a lot of old wood in it," Coffelt said.

The Living Waters United Methodist Church was built in 1924.

Flames were spotted on the second story of the church by crews working to clear the scene Thursday night. Coffelt said there was smoke damage, but they'll need special equipment to determine if flames did any structural damage.

"Were goint to need some cameras to run through everything to make sure we don't have any hot spots remaining before we turn it back over to the owners." Coffelt said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
