Kansas Firefighter Arrested on Arson Charges

An Allen County volunteer firefighter was been charged with 21 felony counts of arson in a series of rural fires set over the past month, according to The Iola Register.Firefighter Lee Berg, 19, was at the scene of a grass fire when he was arrested on Tuesday.Undersheriff Bryan Murphy went to the fire scene and waited until firefighters extinguished the blaze before making the arrest.

Firefighter Lee Berg, 19, was at the scene of a grass fire when he was arrested on Tuesday.

Undersheriff Bryan Murphy went to the fire scene and waited until firefighters extinguished the blaze before making the arrest.

"We can put him at the scene of many of the fires when they started," Murphy told the newspaper.

Berg is being held at the Allen County Jail.
