DAYTON, Ohio --

A series of vacant house fires in Dayton Friday night and Saturday morning kept Dayton Firefighters busy overnight.

At about 10:30 p.m. Friday, crews were sent to an empty building near the intersection of Palmerston and McArthur avenues. Flames were spouting from the building, but crews were able to control the burn before it spread to any occupied buildings.

At 5 a.m. Saturday, crews were called to another burning building about 3 miles away from the fire they put out hours earlier. Firefighters found another vacant house with heavy flames. The fire was extinguished before anyone was hurt or the flames were able to affect any nearby buildings.

Both fires appear suspicious and are under investigation.
