Missouri Firefighter Dies Battling House Fire

CAIRO, Mo. -- The Northeast R-4 Rural Fire Association announced that a 32-year-old firefighter died while fighting a house fire in Cairo, Mo., on Saturday. Henry “Jay” Branscum suffered an unknown medical condition and died while working at a scene where multiple buildings were burning. Branscum left behind a wife and stepson. The association said that Branscum's funeral arrangements are still being made. A service has been tentatively set for Thursday.
