Calif. Firefighter Seriously Hurt After Being Pinned

As a CAL FIRE engine was backing into a space adjacent to another engine, its right rear tire rode up on the curb, causing the engine to shift and pin the firefighter who was assisting.


A CAL FIRE firefighter was seriously injured after becoming pinned between two fire engines on Sunday.

The Nevada-Yuba-Placer and Amador-El Dorado engine strike teams were at a local restaurant during a break at approximately 6:30 p.m., according to a press release.

As the Amador-El Dorado engine was backing into a space adjacent to the other engine, its right rear tire rode up on the curb, causing the engine to shift and pin the firefighter who was assisting.

The firefighter sustained a serious head injury and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
