Truck Driver Convicted in 2008 Montana LODD

A truck driver was found guilty Friday in the 2008 death of a West End firefighters, according to The Missoulian. Sergey Buslayev was at the wheel of a FedEx tractor trailer that jackknifed on a icy highway before slamming into the pickup truck of Firefighter Jerry Parrick on Dec. 17. Parrick was warning traffic of an earlier wreck when the crash occurred. His pickup was parked properly had flashing light activated on the roof and the rear of the vehicle, according to the newspaper.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Buslayev was found guilty by a jury of negligent homicide and negligent endangerment after three days of testimony late last month.

Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 9 and he remains in Mineral County jail.

He faces a maximum of 20 years for the negligent homicide charge and up to one year for the negligent endangerment charge.
