Fire Blazes at Abandoned Iowa Townhouses

DES MOINES, Wash. --

A fire blazed at abandoned townhouses in Des Moines on Saturday night, causing a major fire response.

The fire was first reported when it was seen from outside one of the homes on 30th Avenue South. It quickly spread to two stories and other parts of the structure.

Several fire crews determined the homes were abandoned and had been boarded up. They did not know what started the flames.
