Conn. Firefighter Injured at 2-Alarm Arson Fire

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Hartford firefighters spent the night at the scene of a large two-alarm fire on Sigourney Street. The fire at 397/399 Sigourney St. broke out just before 12:30 a.m. One firefighter was injured by falling debris while fighting the blaze, according to a fire spokesperson. The firefighter was taken to the hospital, treated and released. Fire officials, the state police and the fire marshal have determined the fire was intentionally set and were treating the case as arson.

Hartford firefighters spent the night at the scene of a large two-alarm fire on Sigourney Street.

The fire at 397/399 Sigourney St. broke out just before 12:30 a.m.

One firefighter was injured by falling debris while fighting the blaze, according to a fire spokesperson. The firefighter was taken to the hospital, treated and released.

Fire officials, the state police and the fire marshal have determined the fire was intentionally set and were treating the case as arson.

The fire captain said the first floor porch was set on fire and the fire spread from there.

Three families were displaced in the fire. They were receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
