Wis. Firefighters Bail Out Window During Blaze

MILWAUKEE -- Three Milwaukee firefighters were hurt while battling a 3-alarm house fire on the city's south side Friday evening. The fire department told 12 News the fire started in the attic of the two-story home just after 8 p.m. at 15th Place and West Lincoln Avenue. The fire department said upon arriving, it was learned there might be children in the attic.

Three Milwaukee firefighters were hurt while battling a 3-alarm house fire on the city's south side Friday evening.

The fire department told 12 News the fire started in the attic of the two-story home just after 8 p.m. at 15th Place and West Lincoln Avenue.

The fire department said upon arriving, it was learned there might be children in the attic.

Firefighters went in and encountered heavy flames. Two firefighters jumped from an attic window while one climbed down the stairs. No child was found.

The fire department said the firefighters were taken to different hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
