Pa. Crew Saves 4 From Wreck Down 300-Foot Hill

CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. -- Four people were trapped inside a truck for about six hours after crashing down a 300 foot hillside just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning. The crash happened on Casparis Road along the Yough River Trail in South Connellsville. Police said the vehicle hit the ground with its front end, ejecting two people from the vehicle. It took rescue crews more than an hour to find the scene of the crash. It took about six hours to remove the victims from the wreck, according to a police report.

The crash happened on Casparis Road along the Yough River Trail in South Connellsville.

Police said the vehicle hit the ground with its front end, ejecting two people from the vehicle.

It took rescue crews more than an hour to find the scene of the crash. It took about six hours to remove the victims from the wreck, according to a police report.

Three men and a woman were rescued and flown to Presbyterian Hospital with injuries and were said to be in very serious condition.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
