Firefighters Pull Man Out of Burning Texas Home

SAN ANTONIO -- A man was critically injured early Thursday morning after his home went up in flames, San Antonio firefighters said. Firefighters said the fire broke out just before 1 a.m. in the 400 block of Drury Lane. Firefighters arrived on scene and said they saw smoke and flames coming from the back of the house. They soon discovered a man was trapped in the back of the home, and firefighters said they had to pull him out through a window.

A man was critically injured early Thursday morning after his home went up in flames, San Antonio firefighters said.

Firefighters said the fire broke out just before 1 a.m. in the 400 block of Drury Lane.

Firefighters arrived on scene and said they saw smoke and flames coming from the back of the house.

They soon discovered a man was trapped in the back of the home, and firefighters said they had to pull him out through a window.

Firefighters said the man, who is in his 50s to 60s, was badly burned and taken by Airlife to Brooke Army Medical Center.

The cause of the fire remained unknown Thursday morning.
