Canadian Firefighter Charged in Fatal Crash

A Mississauga firefighter has been charged with running a red light before a crash that killed a civilian last month.
A Mississauga firefighter has been charged with running a red light before a crash that killed a civilian last month, according to The Mississauga News.

Firefighter Jarrett Johns was operating the fire truck when the collision occurred just before noon on March 6 at Britannia Rd. W. and Rodeo Drive.

Forty-two-year-old Kimberley Schulz was killed in the crash.

The fire truck had its lights and sirens activated while it was responding and none of the three firefighters aboard the apparatus were injured.

Johns is scheduled to make his first appearance in court on June 16.
