ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. --

A fire injured three people and destroyed a home in unincorporated Arapahoe County Saturday night.

Cunningham Fire Rescue spokesman Kevin Ferry said neighbors called to report the fire just before 9 p.m.

When crews arrived, they found a large fire burning on the back of the house at 20452 East Chenango Place. The fire had already spread to the interior and attic of the home.

Neighbors helped the residents of the house escape. Two people were hurt and were sent to an area hospital with unknown injuries. A third person was treated and released at the scene.

Authorities said damages to the home were estimated at $300,000. A neighboring home sustained minor damage from radiant heat, but the fire did not spread to any other homes.

Crews were at the scene through the night investigating the fire. Officials said arson had been ruled out. Ferry said it would take crews several days to determine the cause of the fire.

Approximately 30 firefighters from Cunningham Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue Authority responded to the blaze.
