March 15, 2011

BOSTON --

A Boston crane operator was rescued Monday after a medical issue.

Boston Fire's Steve MacDonald said a crane operator at the Conley Terminal on the South Boston waterfront was complaining of back pain and trouble breathing.

The worker was loaded onto a stretcher, and lowered 45 feet to the ground.

The worker was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

This was the second technical rescue that firefighters performed at the Conley terminal this year.
