LAS VEGAS --
Clark County firefighters rushed to the scene of a two-alarm fire in a high-rise apartment building east of the Las Vegas Strip on Friday morning.
The fire was reported on the 10th floor -- the top floor -- of the Vegas Towers building on Flamingo Road near Maryland Parkway. The charred exterior of the apartment could be seen from the street below. Damage is estimated at $150,000.
Three people were treated for smoke-related injuries, firefighters said, but only one was taken to a hospital.
Officials said that someone smoking in bed was the likely cause of the fire.
