N.Y. Firefighter Succumbs to Injuries From Fall

A Garden City Park volunteer firefighter died Thursday from injuries he sustained while responding on Jan. 26, according to Newsday.

Firefighter Tom Regan was pronounced dead at St. John's Hospital in Roslyn, N.Y.

He slipped while getting into his car while responding to a carbon-monoxide alarm during an ice storm.

The 80-year-old volunteered with the department after a long career with the FDNY.
