SUV Crashes in Okla., Lands on Gas Meter

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City police are still investigating how two SUVs nearly hit head-on early Monday morning at the intersection of Northwest 36th Street and Meridian Avenue.

Oklahoma City police are still investigating how two SUVs nearly hit head-on early Monday morning at the intersection of Northwest 36th Street and Meridian Avenue.

Police said one SUV flipped and landed upside down on top of a gas meter, trapping the driver. Firefighters said they had to make sure the gas was off before they extricated the driver, he was rushed to the hospital and expected to survive.

There were three people in the other SUV. A woman had to be extricated and rushed to the hospital, she's expected to be OK. Oklahoma City police said the other two people in the SUV were not injured.

The wreck is still under investigation.
