No Injuries Reported in Neb. Medical Center Fire

OMAHA, Neb. -- Officials said they're thankful no one was injured in a fire at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha on Friday. NMC spokesman Paul Baltes said the fire started near the radiology center in the University Tower shortly before 1:30 p.m., but firefighters quickly put it out. A total of 113 inpatients were moved to another part of the medical center. No patients had to go outside during the transfer to other units at the hospital. All patients have returned to their original units.

Baltes said the fire alarms did their job, and the evacuation process went smoothly.
