Fire Hits Florida Magic Kingdom Attraction

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An attraction caught fire at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom park Wednesday, firefighters said. According to Reedy Creek Fire Department spokesman Bo Jones, crews were called to the park's The Enchanted Tiki Room attraction in the Adventureland section of at about 5:30 p.m. Jones said the fire started in an attic of the attraction and that the building's fire sprinklers extinguished the flames. Fire crews checked out the attraction to make sure the fire was completely out.

An attraction caught fire at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom park Wednesday, firefighters said.

According to Reedy Creek Fire Department spokesman Bo Jones, crews were called to the park's The Enchanted Tiki Room attraction in the Adventureland section of at about 5:30 p.m.

Jones said the fire started in an attic of the attraction and that the building's fire sprinklers extinguished the flames.

Fire crews checked out the attraction to make sure the fire was completely out.

Officials said the area was reopened at about 8 p.m. However, the attraction was still closed to visitors while workers cleared off the excess water.

Investigators have not determined what caused the fire. No one was injured.

Workers said they were unsure if the attraction would be ready for guests on Thursday.
