KANSAS CITY, Mo. --
A Kansas City firefighter died Friday during his annual Fire Department physical.
Battalion Chief Joe Vitale said Richard Paul, 54, was treated at the scene by medical and fire personnel and taken to a hospital, but he died a short time later.
Paul was a fire-apparatus operator assigned to P-43 located at 12900 E. 350 Highway.
Paul leaves a wife and two children.
