A massive four-alarm fire tore through a Rahway condo complex under construction early this morning, according to WNBC-TV.

Five engine companies responded to the blaze at approximately 1:30 a.m. at the vacant multi-story building on Route 27, Rahway Fire Chief Bill Young told the news station.

Firefighters chose not to enter the building due to the intense flames and allowed the blaze to burn itself out.

The fire was under control by 10:30 a.m. and no injuries were reported.

The wind carried the smoke to Elizabeth and Linden and Route 27 was closed for hours between Hazelwood and West Grand Avenue, the report said.
