ST. ALBANS, Vt. --

An afternoon fire destroyed a furniture rental store in St. Albans and getting everything under control could take all night, said officials.

Officials have said the blaze started at the back of the building around 2 p.m. at the Advantage Rental on Sheldon Rd. No injuries have been reported and the store was open at the time.

The cold temperature, freezing valves and wind have made fighting the fire has been difficult, said St. Albans Town Assistant Fire Chief Randy Swan. Crews from Swanton, Sheldon, Georgia, Enosburg and Milton are providing assistance.

Officials have not determined the cause of the fire.

This is the second fire in St. Albans this week. The first fire destroyed a family home Tuesday night. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
