CANBY, Ore. --
A worker was flown to a Portland hospital after being crushed by equipment at a Canby recycling plant, fire officials said.
Canby Fire District spokesman Todd Gary said firefighters were called to KB Recycling on Southeast Fourth Avenue at about 11 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a man stuck in a piece of industrial equipment.
Responding crews found the man had been removed from the pickup arm of a refuse truck by other workers, Gary said.
LifeFlight was activated and flew the man to Oregon Health and Science University Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
