Maryland Apartment Building Fire Hurts Firefighter

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. -- Four people -- including a firefighter -- are recovering after being injured during a Havre de Grace apartment building fire. The fire chief said a three-story building with six apartments caught fire after the blaze sparked in a third floor unit. Before firefighters got there, a volunteer firefighter was able to rescue one person from the building, crews said.

Four people -- including a firefighter -- are recovering after being injured during a Havre de Grace apartment building fire.

The fire chief said a three-story building with six apartments caught fire after the blaze sparked in a third floor unit. Before firefighters got there, a volunteer firefighter was able to rescue one person from the building, crews said.

Two other people jumped from a second floor apartment, firefighters said. One firefighter also received minor injuries from the flames, officials said.

Investigators have not determined a cause. Fire crews said about 60 firefighters helped put out the fire.
