Wis. Firefighters Cut Tree Down to Place Aerial

MILWAUKEE -- Firefighters braved frigid temperatures to battle a house fire in Milwaukee early Wednesday morning. The fire started around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday inside a home near 34th and Lisbon. It took firefighters several hours to extinguish the blaze. There were four people inside the home, but they made it out safely. Firefighters said they had to cut down a tree in order to get a ladder close enough to the house.

Firefighters braved frigid temperatures to battle a house fire in Milwaukee early Wednesday morning.

The fire started around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday inside a home near 34th and Lisbon. It took firefighters several hours to extinguish the blaze.

There were four people inside the home, but they made it out safely.

Firefighters said they had to cut down a tree in order to get a ladder close enough to the house.

Milwaukee police said the fire appears to have started in the home's furnace.
