CARMEL, Ind. --

Five Carmel firefighters face disciplinary sanctions, but the city is releasing few details concerning the incidents in question.

In a news release, city spokeswoman Nancy Heck said the firefighters were issued "disciplinary sanctions of varying degrees for conduct unbecoming a Carmel firefighter."

She said the disciplinary measures are the result of a four-month investigation regarding allegations within the Fire Department, but she did not elaborate on those accusations.

"There was a great deal of diligence given to this investigation to ensure that all allegations were thoroughly examined," the news release reads.

City County member John Acceturo told 6News that he believes Mayor Jim Brainard is failing to provide transparency for taxpayers.

"The mayor needs to address what should be released in regard to this incident," he said over the phone. "I don't even have any information in regard to the incident so I'm not in the position to identify what happened or what should be released because we have been provided no information"

6News and requested additional information from the city in regards to the investigation, but no documents had been provided Friday.
