GREENFIELD, Ind. --

A Greenfield firefighter is accused of using thousands in union money to pay off personal expenses.

Casey Kellams, 39, the president of the local Professional Firefighters Union, spent $4,000 with his union debit card, police said.

He's accused of buying a TV, settling bar tabs, having his truck repaired and paying off his utility bills with the money, police said.

Investigators said Kellams told them he believed the card was part of his pay.

Kellams faces preliminary charges of theft. He was being held in the Hancock County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
