Suspicious Drums Found in California
SACRAMENTO, Calif. --
Roads closed were closed and there was a big county response on Saturday for something that had the potential to be dangerous.
The State Parks Service located several drums left in a field near white Rock and Scott roads in Sacramento.
Sacramento Metro Fire and the California Highway Patrol responded, shutting down roads until they determined what was in the drums.
It turned out one was kerosene.
Kerosene is flammable and if it had been ignited could have set fields on fire.
Firefighters said the flammable materials like kerosene need to be taking to proper recycling facilities.
