Two Children Killed in Oklahoma House Fire

NORMAN, Okla. -- Investigators said two children died after being taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest from a house fire in Norman. Initially, five people were transported to the hospital after the fire at the corner of Cockrel Avenue and Hayes Street. Firefighters said they rescued four people, including the two children. The two children were in cardiac arrest and rushed to the hospital, police said, and the two adults were not breathing.

Investigators said two children died after being taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest from a house fire in Norman.

Initially, five people were transported to the hospital after the fire at the corner of Cockrel Avenue and Hayes Street.

Firefighters said they rescued four people, including the two children. The two children were in cardiac arrest and rushed to the hospital, police said, and the two adults were not breathing.

Firefighters said a pregnant woman managed to escape out a window to get help. She was also transported with scrapes, bruises and smoke inhalation. Police said the woman had an emergency Caesarian section performed at the hospital to save her baby from harm.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
