Responding Detroit Fire Truck Struck

A civilian was injured last after driving into a responding Detroit fire truck, according to The Detroit News. The collision occurred at approximately 8 p.m. when the driver of a Honda Civic ignored a police cruiser that was positioned to allow the fire truck to pass. The driver flew past the cruiser and into the side of the apparatus. The four firefighters aboard the truck were uninjured. The driver of the Civic was transported to Sinai-Grace Hospital and was listed in serious condition.

The fire truck was en route to a blaze and another unit was dispatched following the incident, officials told the newspaper.
