Texting Teen Causes Texas Fire Truck Crash

Investigators say a teen was distracted while text messaging on her cell phone late last night when she drove into a West I-10 fire truck.


Investigators say a teen was distracted while text messaging on her cell phone late last night when she drove into a West I-10 fire truck, according to KRIV-TV.

The 18-year-old female was driving westbound on an Interstate 10 service road in the city of Katy at approximately 11:30 p.m. when she drove through a red light and struck the front end of the fire truck, the report said.

The teen was transported to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital in stable condition and two firefighters aboard the truck were treated for minor injuries.
