Three Hurt in Seattle Ambulance Crash

SEATTLE -- A van crashed into a Seattle Fire Department Medic One unit in south Seattle Monday afternoon, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News. The crash happened shortly after noon at Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Alaska Street.

A van crashed into a Seattle Fire Department Medic One unit in south Seattle Monday afternoon, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

The crash happened shortly after noon at Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Alaska Street.

Authorities said a minivan was speeding along MLK Way as the ambulance approached from Alaska Street using flashing lights and sirens. The ambulance was turning onto MLK Way from Alaska Street when the van struck the ambulance, the fire department said.

The van then crashed into a utility pole and a small tree was knocked down.

A fire department spokesman said three people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
