RUSH TOWNSHIP, Pa. --

Nearly 80 firefighters from Centre, Blair and Clearfield Counties were called out to battle a fast moving brush fire that tore across 30 acres in Rush Township Monday afternoon.

Fire officials on scene told WJAC-TV that a man suffered leg and burn injuries in the blaze; it's unclear if the victim is a firefighter or a resident.

First responders reported seeing 20-foot-high flames in the woods behind the Sandy Ridge Sportsman's Club near Route 350 just after 2 p.m.

An airplane capable of carrying 800 gallons of water and retardant made several drops on the brush fire.

Investigators are working to determine if the fire was intentionally set.
