Woman Dies After Hitting Mich. Engine

An elderly woman died the following day after colliding with a Dearborn fire engine on March 28, according to The Press and Guide. Ann Iwaniec, 87, was heading east on Ford Road when she disregarded a red traffic light and struck the side of an engine returning from a call. The engine had its lights and sirens deactivated. Iwaniec was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead on Monday. There were no other reported injuries and the incident remains under investigation.
