Responding Mich. Fire Truck Hits Car

A Dexter Area Fire Authority firefighter suffered minor injures in crash after he hit and out of control car yesterday afternoon, according to AnnArbor.com. The crash occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Dexter-Pinckney Road when a 64-year-old motorist lost control of his vehicle while yielding to the oncoming fire truck, which had its lights and siren activated.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Dexter-Pinckney Road when a 64-year-old motorist lost control of his vehicle while yielding to the oncoming fire truck, which had its lights and siren activated.

The civilian was trapped and needed to be extricated by responding crews. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and was considered stable by 7:20 p.m., the report said.

The injured firefighter was the only one on board the truck and was treated at the University of Michigan Medical Center before being released.

The amount of damage to the Dexter fire truck isn't yet known, according to AnnArbor.com.
