VAUGHAN, Ontario, Canada -- A collision between a fire truck and a car this morning left a civilian dead and a captain and three firefighters injured, according to The Toronto Star.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m. on Major Mackenzie Drive while the fire truck was responding to an emergency call with its lights and sirens on, Vaughan Fire Chief Gregory Senay told the newspaper.
The driver of the four-door sedan involved in the incident, who was reported to be a male in his 50s, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The captain and three firefighters were transported to the hospital with minor injures and were soon released.
