The second firefighter, Todd McClain, was taken to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, N.Y., for treatment of his injuries and was listed in fair condition. McClain was believed to have inhaled hot gases while battling the fire, the paper reports. Capt. Chris Angell reported that firefighters were dispatched at 2:15 p.m. to the structure at 122 Euclid Ave., and found heavy smoke and fire on both levels of the two-story wood frame house. Officials said the cold weather and snowy conditions did not hamper firefighters' efforts at the fire scene.Tower 1, Engine 1, both city ambulances and Medic 1 were on scene with 15 firefighters for a total of two and a half hours, the paper reported.
