Colo. Firefighter Injured in Ice Training

A Colorado Springs firefighter was hospitalized after falling during an ice training exercise yesterday (Jan. 13) at Helen Hunt Falls, according to The Colorado Springs Gazette.The incident occurred around noon while the department's high-angle rescue team was training.Department spokesman Lt. Brian Keys told the newspaper that the firefighter fell while attempting to climb the ice at the falls.

The firefighter is listed in stable condition and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

The firefighter's name was not released and Keys was unaware of how far down the firefighter fell.
