Letter from the Editor

We would like to congratulate this year’s winners in the Firehouse Heroism and Community Service Awards Program. Your acts of courage, bravery and your willingness to go above and beyond are showcased here for all of the fire service to see. You have to submit an entry to have your department's act or service considered, so please watch for the form and submit your entries early. We would like to recognize the judges: Chief Mark McLees of the Syracuse, NY, Fire Department; Chief Edward "Loy" Senter of the Chesterfield County, VA, Fire and Emergency Medical Services; and (ret.) Chief Bruce Varner of the Santa Rosa, CA, Fire Department. We would also like to thank retired FDNY Rescue 1 Firefighter Paul Hashagen, who administers the program.
