BRUNSWICK, Ga. --

Glynn County firefighters battled a fire of a train carrying automobiles and the trestle carrying the rail cars to the Port of Brunswick.

Channel 4 was told two train cars and the railroad bridge caught on fire at about 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. About 30 Glynn County firefighters battled the fire and Camden County firefighters responded for support.

There were no injuries reported, but officials told Channel 4 that the heat of the fire caused the tracks to warp, so it may take some time to move the train.

The Brunswick Port Authority said the trestle is the only rail connection to Colonel's Island, so they are concerned that it be returned to service quickly.

The same trestle burned five years ago and had to be rebuilt.

The train was carrying a load of Mercedes-Benz cars to the port to be shipped out.
