Connecticut Firefighter Dies While Responding

A veteran Beacon Falls firefighter died of a medical emergency early yesterday morning while responding to a call, according to The Republican-American.Firefighter Kevin Swan, 69, responded to a fire call on Susan Street at approximately 5 a.m., Beacon Hose Company spokesman Jeremy Rodorigo told the newspaper.Swan signed on the radio, but did not show up and was found unresponsive around 8 a.m. inside his pickup truck in his driveway.

Firefighter Kevin Swan, 69, responded to a fire call on Susan Street at approximately 5 a.m., Beacon Hose Company spokesman Jeremy Rodorigo told the newspaper.

Swan signed on the radio, but did not show up and was found unresponsive around 8 a.m. inside his pickup truck in his driveway.

He was transported by ambulance to Griffin Hospital, where he was prounced dead just after 9a.m.

Officials are currently trying to determine exactly the cause of his death.
