ETNA TWP, Ohio-- Four firefighters from the West Licking Joint Fire District were injured this morning (Nov. 18) when a ceiling collapsed on them while battling a blaze at a business, according toThe Newark Advocate.

Crews responded to a fire at SJ Professional Painting after the company's box truck caught fire and spread to the nearby building, climbing up the side and into the attic.

After the four firefighters entered the building to fight the blaze, the ceiling fell on top of them.

Two of the firefighters were taken to Mount Carmel East Hospital with back and shoulder injuries while the other two were treated on the scene. The hospitalized firefighters were treated and released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but a fire official told the newspaper that a pile of oily rags in the truck, used in wood finishing earlier in the day, could have caused spontaneous combustion.
