Depts. Battle Ohio Golf Club Fire

COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Firefighters had to bring in water to battle a blaze at a Columbia Township golf course overnight. Firefighters were called to the closed Riverside Gold Club on Route 252, just south of Sprague Road at about 12:30 a.m. Monday. It took firefighters about an hour to bring the blaze under control. Multiple tankers had to be brought in. Firefighters from Columbia Township, Olmsted Falls, Eaton Township and Grafton Township helped get the fire under control.

Firefighters had to bring in water to battle a blaze at a Columbia Township golf course overnight.

Firefighters were called to the closed Riverside Gold Club on Route 252, just south of Sprague Road at about 12:30 a.m. Monday.

It took firefighters about an hour to bring the blaze under control. Multiple tankers had to be brought in.

Firefighters from Columbia Township, Olmsted Falls, Eaton Township and Grafton Township helped get the fire under control.

The fire destroyed the gold course's main building. It no longer has a roof on it.

Fire investigators are looking into the cause. There is no estimate on damage.

The course has been closed for a number of years.
