Three Die In Houston Structure Fire

HOUSTON -- Houston Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Alexander confirmed with Local 2 News that three people died Sunday in a structure fire in northeast Houston. According to Alexander, the fire started just after 7:30 p.m. and the victims were discovered about 30 minutes later on the second floor. Victim identifications and causes of death are pending autopsies.

According to Alexander, the fire started just after 7:30 p.m. and the victims were discovered about 30 minutes later on the second floor. Victim identifications and causes of death are pending autopsies.

Arson investigators from the Houston Fire Department and homicide investigators with the Houston Police Department have been called to investigate the incident.

The first firefighters responding to the scene reported heavy fire and smoke coming from the two-story structure.

The first floor of the building housed the Family Grocery & Washateria, and the second floor contained apartments.
