Double Springs, Ala. Fire Chief Mike Gilbreath was killed on Friday, March 27 after being struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Double Springs, Ala. Fire Chief Mike Gilbreath was killed on Friday, March 27 after being struck by an oncoming vehicle, according to the Web site FirefighterCloseCalls.com.

Around 6:30 a.m., Gilbreath's department was dispatched for trees down on County Road 25. While operating, a car struck and killed him.

Gilbreath's full time job was with the Winston County Roads Department.
