Ohio Teen Dies in Crash with Fire Truck

--   The Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Bowman Street Road near Kaster Road in Richland County just before 10 a.m. on December 19th. Killed in the crash was Abigail M Finnegan, 17, of Shiloh, Ohio. Patrol authorities confirm she was the sole occupant of a 2003 Chevy pick-up that was southbound on Bowman Street Road. The Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Bowman Street Road near Kaster Road in Richland County just before 10 a.m. on December 19th.

Killed in the crash was Abigail M Finnegan, 17, of Shiloh, Ohio. Patrol authorities confirm she was the sole occupant of a 2003 Chevy pick-up that was southbound on Bowman Street Road. Police said she was wearing her seatbelt.

Ms. Finnegan struck a Cass-Bloomingville-Shiloh Joint Fire Dept fire truck that was northbound on Bowman Street Road being operated by firefighter Scott Jennings. He and his passenger, firefighter Jacob Beck, received non-threatening injuries in the crash and were transported to Med- Central Shelby Hospital for treatment, according to police.

A trooper of the Mansfield Post reports that the initial investigation revealed that Ms. Finnegan was southbound on Bowman Street Rd and lost control of her vehicle. She slid left of center and was struck by the northbound fire truck. She was transported to Med-Central Shelby Hospital where she was pronounced dead from her injuries sustained in the crash

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
