1 Dead, FF Injured in Baltimore Blaze

BALTIMORE -- Fire crews are investigating two fires in southwest Baltimore, one of which turned fatal. The first fire broke out at about 8 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 2500 block of Dulaney Street, firefighters said. Crews found a mattress on fire on the second floor of the home. Firefighters searched the home and found a woman unconscious in another room. She was taken to the hospital, where she died. Crews said a firefighter suffered an injury to his hand while battling the blaze.

Fire crews are investigating two fires in southwest Baltimore, one of which turned fatal.

The first fire broke out at about 8 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 2500 block of Dulaney Street, firefighters said.

Crews found a mattress on fire on the second floor of the home.

Firefighters searched the home and found a woman unconscious in another room. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.

Crews said a firefighter suffered an injury to his hand while battling the blaze.

There is no word on what caused the fire.

Firefighters said they got a call about an hour later from a home in the 2200 block of Ramsay Street.

Authorities said a possible Molotov cocktail was thrown through the window of the home.

No one was hurt. Investigators have not said if the incidents are related.
