HUDSON, N.H. --

The New Hampshire fire marshal is investigating an explosion at a duplex in Hudson.

The explosion ignited a two-alarm fire at the home at 10B Dugout Road Monday evening. No one was injured. Dugout Road remained open while crews from Nashua, Londonderry, Derry, Windham and Litchfield battled the blaze.

Firefighters and gas company crews were called to the house at 4:57 p.m. for a reported odor of gas. Jeffrey Taylor, chief operating officer of Eastern Propane and Oil, said crews were focusing on one propane tank that feeds into the home. He also said the tank was not connected to any other homes.

The state fire marshal is investigating the blast. The cause may remain unknown for days, or possibly weeks, Taylor said.

Fire officials said members of the two families who lived in the duplex were staying with friends.
