One Killed in Florida Fire

Firefighters have not found another woman believed to have been in the trailer.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --

A woman was found dead in a mobile home fire on the Westside, according Jacksonville Fire Rescue. A man was pulled from the home and another woman is still unaccounted for.

The fire started about 3 a.m. Tuesday in a travel camper in the 5500 block of Timuquana Road in the Royal Court mobile home park.

When firefighters arrived, they were told that there were three people trapped inside. Firefighters made their way into the trailer and pulled two people out of a window. A man was taken to the hospital and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. They did not find the third person, a woman, in the trailer. As of 7:30 a.m., she still had not been found.

"Outside of the camper, an adult male was frantically exclaiming that he had just gotten out of the trailer, but there were 3 people still trapped inside. The potential 3rd victim within the camper, a female, was not found in the camper nor was she found in the immediate vicinity in the compound itself," said Jacksonville Fire Rescue spokesman Tom Francis.

Witnesses said they saw flames shooting up into the air.

"I seen them bring someone out on a gurney and after that I seen some flames shooting into the air, about 20 or 30 feet up, but they got it out pretty quick," said neighbor Wanda Powell.

Firefighters had not yet determined a cause of the fire. The fire marshal is conducting an investigation.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has taken over the death investigation. They will release the identities of the victims after the notification of next of kin has been made.

This developing story will be updated when more information becomes available.
