New Jersey Firefighter Collapses, Dies After Alarm

A New Jersey firefighter collapsed and died Saturday following an alarm.

Dennis G. McClenahan, 54, was a volunteer with Princeton Junction Fire Department.

He had returned to his home after responding to an alarm -- a smoke detector activation -- when he collapsed. Despite efforts, he did not survive, according to a USFA report.

Details on his funeral service will be posted when they become available.

This brings to 111 the number of on-duty firefighter deaths this year.
